Reasons for Guilt Essay What causes blame? There are numerous things in life that cause blame. A portion of those things are; fouling up, lying, and cheating. A unique little something is the point at which somebody accomplishes something he or should do. A model would be smoking or drinking. On the off chance that somebody were brought up in a Christian home and realized that it wasn't right to smoke and drink yet went to a gathering and did it at any rate, that may cause some blame in his life. He realized that is wasn't right to smoke and drink, yet he decide to do it in any case. Ideally, he WOULD feel regretful about what he did and he could never accomplish something so moronic again. The second thing that causes blame is lying. Lying obliges doing things that one knows aren't right. At the point when somebody does things that aren't right, he may feel that he needs to fire deceiving conceal for what he did. Lying is something that can wreck a people existence with companions, family and God. At the point when an individual untruths, it just keeps developing; and that one little innocent exaggeration turns into a tremendous massive falsehood that won't leave until he admits what he lied about. The third thing that causes blame is cheating. There are numerous methods of cheating; however in Gods eyes, cheating will be cheating! Generally when individuals consider cheating, they consider tests, tests or perhaps basic schoolwork assignments. Cheating isn't just school-related. A case of swindling ones self would be; on the off chance that somebody were on a careful nutritional plan and her companions knew it, yet when they were not looking she stuffed a couple of treats in her mouth. This doesn't generally appear cheating, yet as it were it is. At the point when somebody does this kind of act, the person in question starts to feel remorseful for cheating. Regardless of how individuals do things they know aren't right or cheat or even untruth, God sees all. He knows their hearts and how they feel. Divide the body of your outline and essay into 3-paragraphs and start each paragraph with a topic sentence. In addition, ensure that each paragraph covers only one idea. Restate your thesis in the conclusion section followed by a summary of the main ideas that you plan to discuss in the body of the paper. Read through and proofread It is important to read through your outline so as to avoid mistakes that might emerge along the way and at the same time also get a glimpse of what your actual essay will look like once it has been written. The process of reading through your essay outline means that you are keen on the kind of information that you included and what might have been left out along the way when you were writing the essay. Proofreading will also help you identify the kind of mistakes that you might have made along the way especially in grammar and punctuations of your outline. The step towards perfecting the work that you might have done with your essay starts when you look at the kind of information that you presented in your essay outline. The last step towards writing a good essay outline is to get needed feedback from your instructor and make the needed corrections. This is a minor step but very important in terms of the way you plan your essay outline. Your instructor will be useful in terms of making sure that your essay outline covers everything that is needed in terms of content. Once your instructor has provided you with the needed feedback, you can be able to go ahead and write the essay based on the outline that you wrote.

AP Scores Whats a Good Advanced Placement Test Score

Advanced Placement exams are graded on a relatively simple 5-point scale. The top score is a 5, and the lowest score is a 1. The average score will vary for different subject areas, but for selective colleges, a score of 4 or 5 will often be needed to impress the admissions folks and earn college credit. What Do AP Scores Mean? AP scores are much more straight-forward than SAT scores or ACT scores since AP exams are graded on a 5-point scale. However, not every college treats AP scores the same way. Students who take the AP exam will get a score ranging from 1 to 5. The College Board defines the numbers as follows: 5 - Extremely well qualified to receive college credit4 - Well qualified to receive college credit3 - Qualified to receive college credit2 - Possibly qualified to receive college credit1 - No recommendation to receive college credit The five-point scale, probably not coincidentally, can also be thought of in terms of letter grades: 5 - A4 - B3 - C2 - D1 - F Whats an Average AP Score? The average score on all Advanced Placement exams is slightly below a 3 (a 2.89 in 2018). In 2018, of the more than 5 million AP exams administered, the grades broke down as follows: AP Score Percentiles for All Exams (2018 Data) Score Number of Students Percentage of Students 5 721,962 14.2 4 1,014,499 19.9 3 1,266,167 24.9 2 1,177,295 23.1 1 910,401 17.9 Note that these numbers are the averages for ALL exam subjects, and that average scores for individual subjects can vary significantly from these averages. For example, the mean score for the Calculus BC exam was 3.74 in 2018 while the mean score for Physics 1 was a 2.36. Do AP Exams Help with College Admissions? Absolutely. With the exception of a few specialized schools and programs that rely largely on auditions or portfolios, nearly all colleges rank success in challenging college-preparatory courses as the most important part of a college application. Sure, extracurricular activities, interviews, and essays can play a meaningful role in the admissions process at selective schools with holistic admissions, but none of those qualitative measures can overcome a weak academic record. Success in AP courses shows colleges that you are prepared to tackle college-level work. Your grade in the course matters, of course, but it is the exam that allows colleges to see how you compare to students from other high schools. If you get 4s and 5s on your AP exams, colleges have a good sense that they are admitting a student who has the skills to succeed in college. On the flip side, 1s and 2s on the exam can show that you didnt master the subject matter at a college level. So while success on AP exams certainly improves your chances of getting into college, low scores can hurt you. Luckily, the reporting of AP exam scores is typically optional on college applications, so you may not need to share a low score with the admissions folks. AP courses you take senior year represent another issue. Colleges will be pleased to see that you are taking challenging courses, but you wont have your AP exam grades from senior year until long after college applications are due. Still, take those senior year exams seriously—they can still have a lot of benefit with course placement. What AP Score Do You Need for College Credit? Now for the bad news: Although the College Board defines a 2 as possibly qualified to receive college credit, almost no college will accept a score of 2. In fact, most selective colleges will not accept a 3 for college credit. In the majority of cases, a student who scores a 4 or 5 will receive college credit. In rare cases, a school may require a 5. This is particularly true at schools that demand true proficiency in a subject, such as calculus in a strong engineering program. The exact guidelines vary from college to college, and they often vary from department to department within a college. At Hamilton College, for example, a student can receive credit for a 3 in Latin, but a 5 is required in Economics. More  Score and Placement Info for AP To learn about AP scores in specific subject areas, follow the links below, For each subject, you can learn placement information and see what percentage of students earn scores of 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Colleges want to see that you have challenged yourself academically, but AP is not the only way to do so. Other options include completing an IB curriculum, taking Honors classes, or completing dual enrollment classes through a college. Also keep in mind that the admissions folks will be looking to see what courses your high school offers. If you go to a small or struggling school, you may have very few AP options. As a result, the admissions officers will not expect you to have many AP classes on your transcript. If, however, you are at a high school that offers a dozen AP classes and youve taken none of them, that will be a strike against you.

Fracking Affect The Community On A Local Level - 1434 Words

Introduction A.Many of the cars that drive by on the highway, the flame that heats dinner on the stove, and the electrical power that flow through homes share a common attribute: they are fueled by natural gas or oil, both of which are fundamental sources of energy in the US and are mined through the process of fracking. B.Hydraulic fracturing, more commonly known as fracking, is a method of oil and natural gas extraction used to release natural gas that can be converted into energy. A mixture of water, sand, and chemicals is injected into shale formations thousands of feet below the surface returning with an untapped flow either gas or oil. Essentially, it is a relatively inexpensive and increasingly common method of energy†¦show more content†¦So much of the energy industry’s resources and funding is being directed toward fracking that the inevitable economic crash will be that much more catastrophic. H.evidence/reason: Alison Singer references a previous claim that states that the US has enough natural gas to supply industries with 100 years worth of energy. However, more recent studies in 2013 have shown that the US’s energy industry may only produce approximately 24 years of an adequate flow of energy with the steady consumption of fossil fuels. Citation: (Singer, Alison) I.analysis: It is likely that, with the rate of consumption of energy as it is, the equilibrium point of energy use and input costs will peak earlier than predicted, causing a disproportionate slide into debt. This will prove a serious economic disadvantage in the future as the national rate of production may plummet without a sustainable energy source. The US may not be able to compete with other fast-moving countries or even be able to profuse enough for their own nation’s needs. J.counter: Nonetheless, some supporters insist that the benefits of fracking outweigh its short shelf life. Professor Bruce McKenzie Everett points out that almost everything society needs to be productive hasan energy cost, which fracking provides at a comparatively low cost. citation: (Bambrick, Gail) While it isShow MoreRelatedEffects Of Fracking On The Environment And Human Health1208 Words   |  5 Pagesconventional natural gas in Australia to supply all of Australia at current levels for more than 6130 years. Music is the speech of angels Free Essays

Music is the speech of angels. Angels are the exemplifications of goodness, uprightness, and everything that bespeaks of morality and mortality. It is said that music is the child of prayer and the companion of religion. We will write a custom essay sample on Music is the speech of angels or any similar topic only for you Order Now Among the Hindus and the Egyptians, music is interwoven with religion. I Aristotle, the great philosopher, saw in music not only enjoyment, relaxation, and recreation, but also release of tension and an incentive to a positive development of character. Likewise Plato, another Greek philosopher said, â€Å"Through music, rhythm and harmony find their ways into the inner-most soul of man which becomes part of his personality.† Music is the unifying element where man finds adequate expression and inner satisfaction for feelings. Dignity and love of work is manifested in songs about the boatman (barcarolle), sailor (chantey) , and the farmer (Japanese rice planting songs). Early history of man has a treasure of   songs evoking friendship (English), victory (Greeks), grief ( Russians), and festivities ( French ). The Belgians have songs for bathing, and the Vikings also had songs about rowing their boats. John Dewey said in Sobritchea’s â€Å" Famous People on Music†, As sculpture expresses the enduring, the stable , and the universal, so music expresses stir, agitation, movement, the particular, and contingencies of existence (47). Music helps establish emotional integrity. Fully aware   of his social and moral responsibilities, the teachers uses remedial measures to extricate the student from delinquent situations, safe from the thorny clutches of evil and vice and from crime—through new musical presentations such as music in the puppet and marionette shows. That music is a manna for emotional catharsis finds evidence in the continuing proliferation of music groups, vocal and instrumental, and in the various contests and festivals which allow the surfacing of talents of the people, young an old ( American Idol, Just for Variety et al ). It is now generally realized   that music; brought about in ways that have meaning to the child, contributes significantly to building the child’s personal identity, enriching his life by developing understanding and perception in his social environment through sound, color, emotion, thought and social relationships and expanding his ability to imagine, create, and appreciate with discriminating judgment. Human beings are lovers of music. Singing, according to Quema   Torrelavega in â€Å" The Myths in Music†Ã‚   was an ongoing even before the discovery of other countries such as the Americas (98). In Roman mythology, the spirits of the gods had to be appeased through songs. Prayers, lustrations and laughter were accompanied by songs. Music is a necessary ingredient in all ceremonies: weddings, delivery of the new baby, baptismal, etc. Music is the flavor of games, dances, worship, festivities, and other ceremonies expressing joy, humor, wonder, and sorrow. Again to include John Dewey as cited in David’s â€Å" Music’s Mystique†, said that music is also change. For Music is a discipline geared to the physical, social, and physiological developments of people, as well as to the socio-economic aspects that lead to the fulfillment of moral values. Motivated and inspired to music, the out- of- school youth is more   than willing to sing and strum his guitar, if only to give expressions of enjoyment and pride in his chosen are- music.   People young and old, have developed a natural and perennial longing for cultural evidence local and foreign, and a feeling for increased involvement and a high level of participation. They seize every opportunity to go out not only to promenade in the streets but also to share, as willing and intelligent music consumers, to free concerts, recitals, vocal or instrumental and other presentations at open parks, cultural centers, art auditoriums, theaters, and other entertainment venues. A powerful antidote to the multifarious problems of delinquency in this troubled world, music affords profitable changes in man’s societal surroundings (89) , according to Peaches Noveuelli   in her book †Ã‚   The Fancies and Guiles of Music†.   Cultural exchange in the performing arts have paved the groundwork for deepened social, and moral goodwill amongst people—Asian, European and the like. Music has effected the blending of culture of the east and west. Music serves as the liaison between the youth and his stand in the community, socially and morally. Singing native songs becomes a pleasurable campaign to propagandize the country’s vast reservoir of human talent. Music is a very important vehicle in the extension of man’s love of country. It is a strong medium that strengthens nationalism and solidarity. The reference book,   Ã¢â‚¬Å"The Legacy of Euripedes† by Edward Romulis states that Hungarian music educators – Zoltan Kodaly, and Bela Bartok, introduced folksongs-the supreme expression of life, play, and work – as the core of their music curriculum (90). Frederick Chopin, the great Polish composer, known as the Poet of the Piano expressed the national sentiments of his people through his polonaises. Music has a deep respect for the beauty of nature. To achieve beauty, the composer utilizes a kinship of many elements: melody, harmony, rhythm and dynamics. Through music, man attempts to reduce phenomena into matters of order and definite form. With sound and silence as basic components, music is delivered into varied styles whether in the haunting and mystic music of the East or to the acculturated music of the West. Music is a testing ground and clearing house for talents. Shinichi Suzuki has spent more than three decades teaching violin to children. Music   is a mental discipline, after all, and oftentimes demands training, schooling, and guidance. Music performed as solo or in groups has been one of countries’ big â€Å"exports†Ã¢â‚¬â€be it choral or instrumental. The creative rock and pop singers, the gyrating combo players in their new age music, and other instrumental players are tangible evidences that they are substantial contributors to the country’s coffers. Music is really an impetus for progress and indispensable in the enhancement of the quality of man’s life. Music’s continuing attention for aesthetic pleasure is adequately shown in Chopin music, romantic violin concertos, or in the magnificent operas, sonatas, and symphonies of the elite society to whet the appetite of music lovers. The only bad effect that can be mentioned of music, is the effect of some forms of innovations in music, like rap and spoken word music, because they tend to increase the hyperactivity of the youth of today,[ sometimes, the young merely opt to have their earphones plugged into their ears, even during class hours, and they do not listen to their teacher’s lectures anymore ], but this is problem that can be handled easily, through discipline measures, like detention. But, this aside, one thing remains, that music knows no bounds. Sources: David, Lucianno.   Ã¢â‚¬Å" Music’s Mystique† Dell Publishing: Chicago, 2000. Kevin Badon Essays (1255 words) - Politics, Activism, United States

Kevin Badon Ms. Wallig English 102 March 28, 2017 "The Letter from Birmingham Jail" (Inside the cell Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) Martin Luther King Jr. was a spiritual and persistent individual of the cause to promote justice of all injustice shown to African Americans, being that he was raised in a Christian home he used those lessons and values of his father and grandfather. In these different points that King has presented he stated his case on the injustice, broken promise, cruel and harsh treatment that the African American has suffered at the hands of many whites. Overall, King is very persuasive with his use of ethos, logos and pathos. King's strong use of ethos is consistently seen throughout the letter for example, he recognizes that he was called and outsider, his present activities were "unwise and untimely". He continues to say that he feels that the Clergymen are men of genuine good will even though they are the reason for him being in this jail cell. But again, he makes his point clear upon his arrival to Birmingham, his reason for being there and to express why he isn't an outsider. He says he has several ties with his affiliates there in Birmingham, he lets them know that he was invited there. He also names his presidential seat he holds with one of the organizations there, he has staff that stationed there and he recognizes that injustice is there. He brings to attention that there are many concerns about the injustices, like unsolved bombings of homes and churches. He continues by stating a "injustice anyw here is a threat to justice everywhere". He even uses being and outsider as example of if I'm an American what makes me an outside? King says that even with having a peaceful nonviolent campaign there are four basic steps: collection of the facts to determine whether injustice exist; negotiation, self-purification; and direct action. A nd even going through they consistently to engage in good faith negotiation. With these refusals to negotiate this didn't discourage them, they even were promises made to them by merchants for signs to be removed in return they agreed to moratorium on all demonstrations. Realizing that they were the victims of broken promises, where a few signs were briefly removed, returned ; and the others remained. Where the shadow of disappointment settled upon them, at this point they felt that they had no other choice but to move to direct action. King also goes on to talk about the purpose of the direct action is to create a situation so crisi -packed that it will inevitabl y open the door to negotiations. For too long has their beloved Southland been bogged down in a tragic effort to live in monologue rather than dialogue. King is asked why didn't he give the new city administration to act, he replied; the new Birmingham administration must be prodded about as much as the outgoing one, before it will act. And even in this King never had always informed and prepared his counsel, staff and followers on possibilities of consequences that they would face during this nonviolent campaigning. So, he also tells the clergymen that, in time that African Americans have waited for 340 years for their constitutional and God given rights and refuse to wait any longer. Also, compared how depressingly behind they were on political independence while other nations such as Asia and Africa were moving with jet li ke speed and they were compared to a horse and buggy, this analogy was just a few that King have given these men of the cloth. He touched on other facts, like when the oppress have seen vicious mobs lynch your mother and fathers at will and drown your sisters and brothers at whim; when you've seen, hate filled policemen curse, kick, and even kill your black brothers and sisters, these are some things that can cause for direct action "why wait". They're also things to consider like a 5 year old child asking their parent "why do white people treat black people so mean", how are you to answer, when you teach them humility every day. This is a very challenging thing
